Digital signage plays an important role in the world, especially education and offices by improving communication, engagement, and information dissemination. However, the implementation of digital signage in an Islamic school environment is a research opportunity. This community service research aims to implement a digital signage in an Islamic School. Also, we developed question answering (QA) with DistilBERT that can be applied to digital signage and can answer questions about Islam. The first step of this research is to design and train DistilBERT-based QA using the Stanford Question Answering Dataset (SQuAD) and then test it using several contexts (C), questions (Q), and answers (A). Next is to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based digital signage that utilizes proximity sensors, Arduino Uno, and a cloud server. We then developed a state-of-the-art digital signage utilizing LEDs. Then we coordinate with Islamic Schools to deploy. In the next step, we visited Islamic Schools, conducted deployment and counseling. The test results showed that, after training DistilBERT on SQuAD, QA had an accuracy of 83.3% after being tested on six Qs and five Cs. At the deployment stage of digital signage, consultation, deployment, and counseling went smoothly with good acceptance from the Assuruur Islamic Boarding School.
